ADMISSIONS

The admissions process is essentially a discernment process. Because of the collaborative approach within a hybrid academy, both the family and academy must be firmly committed to the Catholic life, classical curriculum, and integral community of St. Thomas Classical Academy. Every applicant will go through the following steps as both the family and the academy discern if St. Thomas Classical Academy will best serve the prospective student.

Step 1: Read

Visit our website to familiarize yourself with classical education and the hybrid model. Read the admissions packet to learn about our vision, our culture, and our academics.

Please familiarize yourself with our Parent Oath of Fidelity which must be signed by parents prior to enrollment.

Step 2: Visit

All new applicants are required to attend an STCA Family Visit Day as part of the application process. This is required, even if you have attended a visit day in previous years.

Please contact us to be added to the notification list for STCA Visit Days.

During the Visit Day, your family will tour the building, observe a classroom, and meet with an academy director or board member to learn more about the mission and vision of STCA. Prospective students should attend. Visit Days begin with Holy Mass at 8:15 and conclude before 11:00.

Step 3: Apply

Once you have discerned that this model is right for you, please complete our online application no later than the dates below. Your application must include your application fee. Please check our Tuition & Fees page for application fees. Information on payment types accepted will be given on the confirmation page after submitting an application.

The Priority Admissions period for the 2024-2025 academic year for currently enrolled families is now closed.

Admissions are now closed.

Step 4: Interview

For new families, the admissions committee will schedule time to further discuss our mission and your family’s needs. Both parents should be present. The purpose of this interview is two-fold: first, we want to answer your questions; second, we will thoroughly discuss the model and vision of education at STCA, especially outlining the responsibilities of the academy and parents that make this collaborative educational model work. Interviews will be scheduled in February and March after Family Visits have been completed.

Step 5: Review & Decision

The admissions committee and STCA board review all applications and discern enrollment for each class based on class size, tutor capacity, and the unique needs of each family and child.

Step 6: Notification of Enrollment Decision

You will receive notification of your family’s enrollment decision. Tuition deposits to secure each child’s spot will be due within two weeks of the enrollment notification. Additional spots may open up and be offered to wait-listed children over the course of the summer.
